177 - The Poseidon P8A submarine hunting aircraft and magnetic anomalies on 21-09-2022

Poseidon P8A submarine hunting aircraft

SUMMARY:
This post looks at data surrounding the first US Navy flight P-8A
in the Bornholm area and tries to check it against selected data
from that day ad news after the event which hint to a submarine threat.
Why was it sent to Baltic sea?
Why a US Navy from Norfolk flew via Iceland and not some local P-8a?
Was it before or after the US Navy started the withdrawal from the Baltic sea?
What did it find near Bornholm?

KEY TAKEAWAYS:

On September 19, 2022, Norway notified the US about a perceived threat in the Baltic Sea, which may have triggered the P-8A's deployment and following actions from Denmark and Sweden.

On September 21, 2022, a US Navy P-8A Poseidon aircraft, designed for anti-submarine warfare, was operating in the Bornholm area.

Around the same time, several naval vessels from Denmark and Sweden were reported near the Nord Stream sabotage site, indicating a potential anti-submarine warfare (ASW) search operation.

The timing and unexplained movements of these vessels and route patterns indicate possible coordinated or subsequent ASW search operations.

Detected magnetic anomalies in the vicinity suggest the possible presence of a submarine, mini-sub, unmanned drone, or a combination thereof.

The unusual movement patterns of Danish and Swedish naval vessels leading up to the Nord Stream explosions imply a coordinated search effort.

A Russian sailing ship was noted to be near the explosion site but changed course for unknown reason but unexpectedly changed course.

Although the US initially retracted its naval assets from the Baltic, it retained the USS Paul Ignatius to observe the area. Paul Ignatius was left in the area to guard and monitor the Russian naval chokepoint in Kaliningrad

Russia launchd snap anti submarine missions and other rills and announced it is ready to asserted its commitment to safeguarding its territorial integrity.

After the event the US contemplated offering to analyze underwater audio recordings to assist investigations. Later hear of German Navy mentions that there were some magnetic anomalies suggesting that there was some submarine, minisub or un/manned drone or a combination of them.

DATA:

19 Sept 2022 - NOR/SWE/FIN/DK: This week, the Nordic Naval Staff Seminar

...is being held in Bergen. Here, representatives from the Naval Defense Staffs in Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark meet to share experiences and develop Nordic defense cooperation.

[MRT: Norway blew a whistle to USA on 19-09-2022 about some threat in the European naval area - Eyes and Ears hints to a submarine data. Possibly key European allies were also informed. Each state in the area soon started to run some anti-terrorist mission

20 Sept 2022 - USA/DK: Denmark:

Minister of Defense @mfMorten has held his first official meeting with the new US ambassador. Denmark's most important ally @mfMorten has now formally met the new US Ambassador to the Kingdom of Denmark @USAmbDenmark. Our most important ally. Stronger together 🇺🇸 🇩🇰

[MRT: Details of these meetings explored in separate posts. The unknown issue is what exact intelligence NOR had and where and how they got it?]

21 Sept 2022 - USA/ICE: Boeing P-8A Poseidon to Keflavik

[MRT: There was suddenly a distrust between allies. NOR closed separate security bilateral arrangement with USA, it is duplicitous to the NATO defense agreement. Hence this hints that some dangerous event which could lead to uncontrolled escalation and which would NOT trigger the Article 5 was discovered. The USA sent their own P-8A to get unfiltered data which was not going through shared channels of European NATO -> the suspect is a NATO member. Navy data goes through London, Northwoods - MARCOM.]

21 Sept 2022 - Boeing P-8A Poseidon #AE5A9D

21 Sept 2022 - RU: Russian sailing ship MIR appears next to the site of the second explosion

[MRT: Why the 180 degree sudden turn? May be significant. To explore connection with other states who at the same time started to have antiterrorist/policing missions in the area. It is possible that some Red Herring was released to RU, GER as both went into wrong direction, away from the Bornholm area.]

21 Sept 2022 - DK: The Royal Danish Navy Diana-class Patrol Vessel P524 Nymfen

left Rødbyhavn and headed directly towards the Nord Stream 1 sabotage location. The P524 Nymfen heading straight for the Nord Stream 1 sabotage location overnight is highly unusual, as this would be only the second time in many years that a Royal Danish Navy vessel has taken an interest in the area.

[MRT: Who alarmed SWE and DK Navy to sent there their assets which could look under? Separate early post about these events here: 019 - Submarine threat in the Baltic Sea and the German led "Northern Coasts" exercise]

21 Sept 2022 - Navy chief Ewa Skoog Haslum visited the anti-submarine and surface combat exercise over the weekend. Hear what she says about practicing more and finally getting to meet some of the staff

21 - 23 Sep 2022 - DK/SWE: Five days before the pipeline blasts,...

...it was a chilly and overcast day on the east coast of Sweden. The Intelligence Ship - HSwMS - Swedish Corvette „K31 Visby“ (K31) was set on a southward course... The next morning, something must have happened.

The „Visby“ left Karlskrona on 22 September around 08.30 a.m. (06:30 UTC) at 18-20 knots, according to MarineTraffic data, effectively double the speed of its patrol ride on the previous day. Now it was heading southeast for Bornholm. Had it received a radio call instructing it to search for something?

[MRT: The head of SWE Navy was in Karlskrona giving special orders/intel to captain? Was she informed that the USA is withdrawing? Post here: 076 - Archipelago Endeavor 22 exercise and Sweden in mid September]

The following day, 23 September, the „Visby“ rounded the island of Bornholm, passing closely by the later explosion site #1 in the process. After leaving the area westward, the naval corvette returned for a second look at explosion site #2 the following day, 24 September, around midday at 12:13 local time..

The Danish Patrol Boat - On the same morning of 22 September when the „Visby“ left Karlskrona seemingly in a hurry, the Danish Navy Patrol Boat „Nymfen“ P524 had already headed to the same waters northeast of Bornholm.

Nymfen left Rodbyhavn 21/9 ~19.50

Focusing on a particular section of the Danish patrol boat’s movements (blue box) near site #2, a search pattern emerges. The location of the blue box is approx. 18-20 km from the later explosion site #2.

The „Nymfen’s“ route on 22 Sept. – blue box: close-up area

The patrol boat’s movements seem to indicate a kind of search pattern. At one point, it almost came to a halt, moving at 1 knot or less (indicated by the red arrows). What information was it that brought the boat out to this location? Where did the information come from?

The fact is the „Nymfen“ was crusing in the highlighted area (blue box) between 08:17 a.m. local Swedish time (06:17 UTC) and 08:41 a.m. (06:41 UTC) — the same time that the Swedish warship „Visby“ was just leaving Karlskrona heading for the same general area.

The routes of the „Nymfen“ (left) and the „Visby“ (top, right) on 22 September.

By the time the „Visby“ arrived near explosion site #2 around 01:00 p.m. local time (11:00 UTC), the Danish patrol boat „Nymfen“ had already left for the nearby port of Nexø on the island of Bornholm.

[MRT: Why did they spent 3 days in the area and is it connected to this??? It is possible that they discovered something which spooked Liz Truss? Was she called off to handle diplomatic crisis? Post here: 077 - What the heck happened on Friday 23-09-2022 that Liz Truss scuttled out of the chamber and went into hiding?

21 Sept 2022 - RU: Vladimir Putin:

"If the territorial integrity of our country is threatened, we will use all available means to protect our people – this is not a bluff".

[MRT: Looks like also Russia was alarmed about the situation. They run own snap drills which included anti-submarine exercises, here: 110 - Russian anti-submarine exercises in the Baltic sea in Mid September 2022 and then warned the UK, specifically Truss and Boris Johnson (main suspects) against going further with escalations: 113 - Russian nuclear positioning before the Nordstream is attacked]

21 Sept 2022 - RU: Putin mobilizes and threatens nuclear weapons

[MRT: The USA realized the issue and immediately started to withdraw their Navy as not to be entangle in the next European conflict: 111 - The USS Task Force 61/2 deployment in the Baltic sea during September 2022]

21 Sept 2022 - USA: Kearsarge group leaves Baltic Sea

[MRT: At the same time Biden stated "Don´t! Don´t! Don´t! and begins de-escalation attempts: 094 - The USA de-escalates possible Russian nuclear response even before Nordstream is hit, NATO protect Trans-Atlantic alliance afterwards.]

22, 23, 24, 25 September - SWE/DK: Swedish newspapers Dagens Nyheter report that Swedish navy was in the area a few days before the sabotage.

 22 Sept 2022 - DK: BALTIC SEA ACTIVITIES - BY foga.dk - wk. 38

Gardline Limited are conducting a geotechnical site investigation at the Bornholm 1 & 2 offshore wind farms on behalf of Energinet. The work is being conducted by the DP2 drill vessels KOMMANDOR SUSAN (IMO 9177844) [UK] and OCEAN VANGTAGE (IMO 8405440) [UK

pre-28 Sept 2022 - USA: CNN reports that:

"Russian submarines were also observed not far from those areas last week, one of the intelligence officials said... US officials declined to comment on the intelligence about the ships on Wednesday."

[MRT: The data from StrikeHawkP-8A were not released so it means that it was NOT a Russian submarine which was on hydro acoustic records of SWE, DK.]

3 Oct 2022 - "The person responsible for the Nord Stream gas pipeline leaks is unlikely to ever be held accountable", Vice Admiral Jan Christian Kaack, Commander of the German Navy, told Monday's "Aktuaalne kaamera".

"The basis for seeing possible events is a clear picture of the sea, or observation. If there is a clear picture of the air, surface or subsurface — almost clear, because you cannot always be completely sure — then you can look at anomalies in the system and then you can bring a special unit to the area where the anomaly was detected," Kaack said.

5 Oct 2022 - USA: US considering offering to analyse underwater audio recordings to aid Nord Stream pipeline sabotage investigations

The US Navy’s processing of the sonar signatures – the term for the unique underwater sounds – provided by Sweden and Denmark could boost the investigations by providing a more detailed picture of what was in the area at the time of the pipeline explosions and what caused them, sources said... Each type of underwater machinery like submarines, torpedoes and vessel engines makes a unique sound that is called a “sonar signature,” and the US has an extensive library of these sounds.

176 - November 2022 - Nord Stream terrorist attacks chiefly benefit US, says Russian security chief

3 Nov 2022 - Nord Stream terrorist attacks chiefly benefit US, says Russian security chief

MOSCOW, November 3. /TASS/. The terrorist attacks on the Nord Stream pipelines were beneficial to the US, and the UK was involved in devising the plot, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolay Patrushev revealed, speaking on Thursday at a meeting of Secretaries of CIS Security Councils.

He recalled that literally from the first minutes after the reports had emerged about the blasts along the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines, an active smear campaign was launched to pin the blame on Russia. "However, it is obvious that the main beneficiary of these terrorist attacks is the US, and the British Navy was involved in their planning and implementation, according to the Russian Defense Ministry," Patrushev pointed out.

The top official highlighted that what could not be ignored is the text message by ex-UK Prime Minister Liz Truss, informing US Secretary of State Antony Blinken immediately after the bombing of the gas pipelines that "everything was done".

In general, as the security chief noted, the US, using the most advanced technologies, created a favorable information field for itself, acting as organizer of smear campaigns and shifting the responsibility for what was happening to other members of the international community.

The USA evaluated the situation and recalled their naval forces from the Baltic sea.
After US Navy withdrew it still operated there with ASW to get own data on RU assets.

[MRT: The reason was to have operational data
which do not go through NATO MARCOM,
shared intelligence,
but directly to US HQ in Norfolk.
The USA preffered own security over that of its allies]
