TRUSS KNEW THREATS, SHE KNEW THE INFLUENCE OF UK ARMED FORCES

On 2 Oct 2022 Ben Wallace, Secretary of State for Defence, addressed Conservative Party Conference 2022 on our plan for defence. Andy Street and his excellent team here in Birmingham demonstrate quite the opposite. ..."And as a Lancashire MP, I am truly grateful for the work started by Boris Johnson to level up this country. I know that our new Prime Minister is equally dedicated to continue that mission.
But as we gather today for the start of our conference, I want to start by first of all paying tribute to the late Queen. The motto of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst is “Serve to Lead”.
"Boris Johnson shared that view and handed us the biggest settlement since the Cold War. He recognised that we needed to invest in our Armed Forces and not to manage decline."
"And Liz Truss, our new Prime Minister, has gone even further and done what will be needed to finish the job. When she was Foreign Secretary, she knew what the threats were out there and she knew the influence that Britain’s Armed Forces delivered around the world."
"I am delighted they are now joining NATO. But how unnecessary his invasion has been and at a cost of huge suffering to all in Ukraine and wider."
"But Putin’s reactions are wider than just Ukraine. His reach goes further. This week, we saw the “mysterious” damage inflicted to the Nordstream pipelines."
"And it should remind us all how fragile our economy and infrastructure is to such hybrid attacks. Our intent is to protect them. Our internet and energy are highly reliant on pipelines and cables. Russia makes no secret of its ability to target such infrastructure."

The Naval Aviation Squadron 3 "Graf Zeppelin" in Nordholz, after the ordeal with the unreliable and antiquated P-3C Orion, you can look forward to a “great aircraft”. rejoiced Vice Admiral Jan Christian Kaack, Inspector of the Navy.
Comprehensive equipment
If everything works out, the naval aviators will be “at the forefront again” internationally. because the P-8A is currently the only “high-end” solution available and offers a comprehensive range of capabilities. Especially when it comes to the increased need to hunt submarines, for example in the Baltic Sea and the Norwegian Sea off Norway, there is probably no better aircraft at the moment.
Overall, Boeing speaks of "unique multi-mission capabilities" the Poseidon, from submarine hunting to combating ships, long-range maritime surveillance and use in search and rescue missions.

PERPETRATOR SPEAKS AGAINST RUSSIA BEING INVOLVED IN THE NORDSTREAM INVESTIGATION

On 5 Oct 2022 British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace on Wednesday spoke out against involving Russia in the investigation of the incidents on the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines.

TWO MAIN SCENARIOS

On 5 Oct 2022 Nord Stream pipeline sabotage: how an attack could have been carried out and why Europe was defenceless.
Two likely scenarios.
SUBMARINE/MINI-SUBMARINE (Later confirmed by evidence)
A first option is that the attacks could have been carried out as an underwater operation using advanced submarine technology.
This implies that we are looking at a state and its navy. Although the attacks took place outside the territorial waters of the Nato members Denmark and Sweden, they could be interpreted as an act of war.
PRIVATE STORY (Later rejected by lead Swedish investigator)
The second scenario is an operation launched from a privately owned surface vessel, such as a fishing boat being used as a platform for divers or submersibles to place explosives. In this case, the attack vessel was hiding in everyday maritime traffic.
This scenario points us to so called “grey-zone” tactics: an attack by a group acting indirectly on behalf of state interests.

I HAVE SPENT COUPLE OF HUNDRED HOURS SO FAR TRYING TO HOLD NATO TOGETHER (086)

On 6 Oct 2022 - USA: Remarks by President Biden at Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Reception
7:32 P.M. EDT
...
There’s a lot at stake in American foreign policy as well, where I spend most of my time and my — my career, I should say.
And we have some real difficult decisions to make, relative to what’s going on in Ukraine, and we’re going to continue to support them. But first time since the Cuban Missile Crisis, we have a direct threat of the use of the nuclear weapon if, in fact, things continue down the path they’ve been going. That’s — that’s a different deal. That’s a different deal.
And, you know, we’re trying to figure out: What — what is Putin’s off-ramp? Where — where does he get off? Where does he find a way out? Where does he find himself in a position that he does not not only lose face, but lose significant power within Russia?
So I guess what I’m saying is that we have to keep the Senate because two years of — of chaos is going to create a lot of changes around the world as well. I’ve spent the bulk of my time — not a joke; and I don’t think any of you would think it’s an exaggeration — I’ve spent a couple hundred hours so far just trying to hold NATO together so we’re all in the same spot.
Everybody is united in Europe, relative to what we do in Ukraine and relative to Russia. We find ourselves in positions that we’ve been able to get significant support from the Quad — from Australia, India, and Japan — relative to China and the South China Sea.
There’s a lot of changes going on — a whole lot that I’d like to talk about with you if you want to talk about them in the question-and-answer period...

This is not about moving closer to Europe,”
The British PM went on to blame Russia’s President Vladimir Putin and the ongoing war in Ukraine for rising energy costs, adding that Britain was working with European countries to boost renewable and nuclear energy. Challenged with reports of possible electricity shortages in the UK this winter, Truss said she was “working very hard” on energy security.

"A post-Brexit Britain, as an independent country outside the EU, should be involved in discussions that affect the entire continent and all of us here at home. We are taking part as an independent sovereign nation, and we will act as one..."
"I want to see concrete action and delivery on three key priorities."
"First, we must ensure that Putin is defeated."
"Second, we must end our addiction to Russian hydrocarbons... It is right that we talk with our European allies about how we do that collectively. Putin is hoping he can divide us in a scramble for energy supplies. We must show him that he is wrong."

It was hard to imagine, said Kyrgyzstan’s representative, an international climate less hospitable to nuclear arms control. Under such circumstances, it was more important than ever to strengthen those nuclear disarmament and non‑proliferation approaches that remained effective, including nuclear-weapon-free zones and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
Several speakers agreed that the current security environment was extremely challenging and complex. Hungary’s representative said that, with an increased risk of nuclear escalation and miscalculation, arms control, disarmament and non‑proliferation were more important than ever. He stressed that efforts must be redoubled to reinforce the norms against nuclear weapons and reject policies that threatened to use them...
The representative of the Russian Federation, speaking in exercise of the right of reply, rejected the unfounded and unproven insinuations made by several delegations. Responding to the accusations of nuclear weapon threats by his country, he declared that an anti-Russian Federation campaign of twisted Western propaganda. The Russian Federation’s nuclear deterrence doctrine was exceptionally clear: it did not allow for expansive interpretations and was only defensive in focus. His country’s official rhetoric did not exceed the bounds of that policy and was fully in line with international obligations. The international security situation had greatly deteriorated because of the West and Europe. A very serious crisis had emerged with the involvement of nuclear Powers.

UK DESTROYED SECURITY OF ENERGY SUPPLIES FOR THE EU
IN NAME OF PEACE, PROSPERITY AND STABILITY THE PERPETRATOR´S IDENTITY IS CONCEALED (047)

On 7 Oct 2022 - CZE/EUROPE: Informal meeting of heads of state or government
Main results
EU leaders met in Prague to discuss Russia’s war against Ukraine and its impact on the energy situation in Europe, including its economic ramifications.
Remarks by President Charles Michel following the informal meeting of the EU heads of state or government in Prague
...This gives me the opportunity to say a word about yesterday’s meeting - a historic meeting because, for the first time, the countries of the European continent, 44 countries that share the same ambition to work together for peace, prosperity and stability, had the opportunity to meet for the first time in this new format...
...We have taken decisions to strengthen the sanctions imposed against Russia as we need to increase pressure on the Kremlin. In addition, both today and yesterday, we stressed the importance of reaching out to third countries in order to counter the Russian narrative....
...We have also had the opportunity today, in this informal meeting of the European Council, to address this fundamental issue of the energy situation. Let us be clear, we all understand that Russia has unleashed a war against the Ukrainian people, who are suffering from this war on a daily basis and who are courageously fighting for the values we share and for their own future, but also for the future of the European project and of Europe itself. Indeed, Russia has launched an energy missile against the European continent and the world. We are facing an energy crisis....
We have had the opportunity to address three issues that we feel are extremely important and for which European action is indispensable. Firstly, it is important to take action to reduce consumption and demand. Initial decisions have been taken on the initiative of the European Commission, and thanks to the rapid work done by the Czech Presidency, we will continue to ensure that consumption is reduced.
The second point is the question of security of supply. We have been working for some months now to ensure that stocks can be built up as much as possible. This is a good step, and it is important. Since before the summer, we have also been discussing the importance of gradually setting up platforms for the joint purchase of energy resources. We had the opportunity to revisit this subject today, and we perceived increasing support for continuing to make progress. Especially, for example, to be able to replenish stocks when it becomes necessary to do so again. This is one of the examples that were mentioned, for which the Commission has made proposals in its roadmap.
The third element is the question of prices. This is having a painful impact on families and on households. It may also be painful for our businesses, and it has an economic impact. I would also like to say today that we felt a shared desire on the part of European leaders to be mobilised with a common ambition to reduce the price of energy resources and to work with the Council and the European Commission, so that this Council meeting must be seen today as a strategic step leading towards the next European Council, which should be an opportunity to move forward in terms of taking the required measures into consideration.
Countering Russian narratives (053191199)
Russia’s war against Ukraine is having huge consequences that go beyond Europe, including in terms of the global food security crisis. In this context, EU leaders stressed the importance of reaching out to third countries to counter Russian narratives and expressed their determination to support their partners across the world in addressing food security issues.

SCHOLZ AT THE PRAGUE SUMMIT
THE NORDSTREAM AFFAIR COVER-UP

On 7 Oct 2022 Europe came even closer together in Prague
European leaders discussed support for Ukraine at the informal European Council in Prague as well as what to do about the high energy prices. Before that, the Federal Chancellor attended the inaugural meeting of the European Political Community.
Europe stands united during this crisis
Another important topic was energy prices, which are far too high. The European energy ministers agreed on a common emergency package last week in order to reduce the cost of energy in Europe, which will now be implemented at the national level.
The EU finance ministers have also agreed to implement the REPowerEU programme, which, according to Scholz, "is a package with which we are mobilising funds of well in excess of 200 billion euros". This will stimulate investments in the energy sector, which will ensure Europe's long-term independence from Russian energy imports.
The Federal Chancellor highlighted the fact that Europe is financially strong enough to face the crisis. So far, only about one fifth of the generous funds from the major Next Generation EU programme, which was jointly adopted during the German EU Council Presidency, have been disbursed. "So," Scholz added, "we still have 600 billion euros of crisis management money available on our side.”
With the addition of national funds, this 600 billion is a "huge European financial commitment to counter Putin's attempts to bring Europe to its knees through energy blackmail", the Federal Chancellor said.
Security, stability, and prosperity in Europe
The purpose of the European Political Community (EPC) is to promote political dialogue and collaboration in the interest of Europe as a whole, with a view to enhancing security, stability, and prosperity on the European continent.
The event was also attended by the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.

PUTIN ON NATO AND UKRAINIAN CONFLICT
DEPLOYING NATO FORCES COULD LEAD TO CATASTROPHE

On 11 Oct 2022 Deployment of NATO troops to Ukraine could lead to catastrophe, Putin says
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said on October 11 that Russia’s victory in the conflict in Ukraine would be NATO’s defeat
When speaking about NATO’s recent statement that Ukraine’s defeat would be the bloc’s defeat, the Russian leader noted that "it is a matter of perception, a matter of legal technique."
"Everyone can have a different understanding of that. The fact that Crimea became Russia’s constituent entity in 2014 - is it a defeat or what?" Putin mused.
"In any case, the deployment of any troops for a direct clash with the Russian army is a very dangerous step that could lead to a global catastrophe. I hope that those who are talking about it will have enough sense to refrain from such steps," he said, when asked whether there was a possibility of the introduction of NATO forces to Ukraine if Kiev faced a dire situation on the battlefield."
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said on October 11 that Russia’s victory in the conflict in Ukraine would be NATO’s defeat. It’s crucial that Kiev wins, Stoltenberg stressed, adding that the alliance should be ready for a long war in Ukraine.

ANY DELIBERATE ATTACK (RUSSIAN RETALIATION) AGAINST ALLIES CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE WOULD BE MET WITH UNITD AND DETERMINED RESPONSE

On 11 Oct. 2022 NATO Secretary General previews meetings of NATO Defence Minister
NATO Defence Ministers will meet in Brussels on Wednesday and Thursday (12-13 October 2022) to step up and sustain support to Ukraine and continue to strengthen NATO’s own defences, against the backdrop of Russia’s most significant escalation since the start of the Ukraine conflict...
On Thursday, the Secretary General will chair a meeting of the Nuclear Planning Group to discuss Russia’s dangerous nuclear rhetoric and the role of NATO’s nuclear capability in preserving peace and deterring aggression. Next week, NATO will hold its long-planned deterrence exercise, Steadfast Noon, “this is routine training, which happens every year to keep our deterrent safe, secure and effective.” Mr Stoltenberg said.
(read full remarks)
"NATO Defence Ministers will meet this week at an important moment for transatlantic security."
"We will review our progress on strengthening NATO’s deterrence and defence."
"We will further increase the protection of our critical infrastructure, in light of the sabotage of the Nord Stream pipelines..."
"...NATO is not party to the conflict..."
"We are closely monitoring Russia’s nuclear forces."
"We have not seen any changes in Russia’s posture."
"But we remain vigilant."
"At the Madrid Summit in June, NATO leaders decided a fundamental shift in our defence and deterrence to respond to the new security reality.¨..."
"We will also address the protection of our critical infrastructure."

"NATO has been working on this for many years."
"And following the sabotage of the Nord Stream pipelines, we have further enhanced our vigilance across all domains."
"We have doubled our presence in the Baltic and North Seas."
"To over 30 ships."
"Supported by maritime patrol aircraft and undersea capabilities."
"These efforts are closely coordinated by NATO’s Maritime Command."
"Allies are also increasing security around key installations."
"And stepping up intelligence and intelligence sharing."
"We will take further steps to strengthen our resilience and protect our critical infrastructure."
"Any deliberate attack against Allies’ critical infrastructure would be met with a united and determined response."
"We will be joined by EU High Representative Borrell."
"Because NATO and the European Union face the same security challenges."
"We have a difficult winter ahead."
"So it is even more important that North America and Europe continue to stand united..."
NATO Secretary General:
"Now is the right time to be firm and to be clear that NATO is there to protect and defend all Allies. And this is a long time planned exercise, actually planned before the invasion of Ukraine. It's a routine exercise, and it's an exercise to ensure that our nuclear deterrent remains safe, secure and effective. I visited this exercise a few years ago. We have been open about the exercise and I think it would send a very wrong signal if we suddenly now cancelled a routine, long time planned exercise because of the war in Ukraine. That would be absolutely the wrong signal to send. And we need to understand that NATO's firm, predictable behavior, our military strength, is the best way to prevent escalation. We are there to preserve peace, to prevent escalation and prevent any attack on NATO Allied countries."
"So if we now created the grounds for any misunderstanding, miscalculation in Moscow about our willingness to protect and defend all Allies, we would increase the risk of escalation and that's the last thing we will do..."
NATO Secretary General: "We are constantly consulting among NATO Allies. We have already conducted three NATO Summits this year. We will convene a summit when needed, so we have the meetings we need, when we need them. And we are constantly assessing also the need to then convene yet another summit to ensure that we have consultations and the right messages from NATO at all levels. We will have a ministerial meeting this week, and that provides a good opportunity to send a clear message and then we'll make decisions on a potential summit when we think the right the time is right."
"Then on the nature of the war. Well, this is an illegal invasion of another country. It is a clear violation of international law. Russia invaded a sovereign independent nation, violated its territorial integrity and sovereignty. That actually didn't start in 2022 or in February of this year. It started in 2014. But of course they scaled up their aggressive actions against Ukraine in February, and they have violated international law in a blatant way. And we have also seen horrendous and horrific attacks against civilians, we have seen the reports from Bucha, from many other places in Ukraine. And the important thing now is that all facts are made available, that we have thorough investigations, NATO Allies support the ongoing investigations, and that those responsible are held accountable for these atrocities..."
NATO Secretary General: "NATO is prepared for any threat, any attack, against any NATO Ally. And that's the reason why we have NATO, to be able to deter also nuclear threats. And this was important before the invasion of Ukraine, it has become even more important after. Not least in light of the nuclear rhetoric from President Putin and from Russia. This nuclear rhetoric, or veiled threats, are dangerous and reckless. Russia knows that a nuclear war cannot be won and must never be fought. And we also conveyed clearly to Russia that they will have severe consequences if they use nuclear weapons in any way, including low yield nuclear weapons in Ukraine. Then, by ensuring that we have credible deterrence and defence, we are helping to reduce the risk of escalation."
"And therefore it is important that since 2014, we have implemented the biggest reinforcement of our collective defence since the end of the Cold War. So we were prepared when Russia invaded Ukraine in February. And since then, we have further stepped up, increased our presence in the eastern part of the Alliance. We activated our defence plans the morning of the invasion, and we made decisions in Madrid in June to further strengthen our collective defence."
"The purpose of this is to prevent war, preserve peace, and including prevent any use of nuclear weapons."

UK CHEERLEADING TO DO MORE AGAINST RUSSIA (002003054)

On 12 Oct 2022 UK: Putin is losing on the battlefield: UK statement to the OSCE
Ian Stubbs (UK delegation to the OSCE) stresses that, when Putin is losing on the battlefield, he takes the war to the Ukrainian people instead. On 8 October, an explosion damaged the Kerch Strait Bridge. A crucial logistics route for Russia’s militarisation of illegally annexed Crimea, the bridge also plays a key role in moving heavy military vehicles & equipment as well as fuels, oils and lubricants to the southern front of Putin’s illegal invasion of Ukraine. Accordingly, substantial damage to this bridge will almost certainly have a significant impact on Russia’s already strained ability to sustain its forces under pressure in southern Ukraine.
In an address to his Security Council on 10 October, President Putin stated that the intense barrage of missile attacks he had unleashed across Ukraine was in retaliation for the attack on the Kerch Strait Bridge. He also threatened a harsh response to any further attacks on Russian territory.
"Mr Chair, I would like to be very clear on two points
- Opened in 2018 by Putin himself, the construction of the Kerch Strait Bridge was a violation of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. It is a bridge built by Russia on Ukraine’s territory.
- Putin’s attempt to portray Monday’s barrage of missile strikes as a show of strength in retaliation of the Kerch Bridge incident fools no one. When Putin is losing on the battlefield, he takes the war to the Ukrainian people instead."

THE ACTOR COMMITED SIMILAR SABOTAGE IN THE PAST AND WERE COUGHT RED-HANDED BUT EVADED PUNISHMENT (036)
BENEFICIARIES ARE UKRAINE, USA

On 12 Oct 2022 - RU: Putin: Russian Energy Week International Forum plenary session
"I would like to welcome all the participants and guests of Russian Energy Week, a respected and recognised platform for dialogue on key global energy topics."
"Such direct and transparent communication is essential now, when the global economy in general, the fuel and energy sector are in the middle of, let me be direct, an acute crisis due to unstable price dynamics of energy resources, an imbalance in supply and demand, and the overtly subversive actions of individual market participants, who are guided solely by their own geopolitical ambitions, resort to outright discrimination in the market, and if that does not work, they simply destroy the infrastructure of their competitors."
"In this case, I am of course talking about the sabotage of the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines. There is no doubt that this is an act of international terrorism, the purpose of which is to undermine the energy security of the entire continent. The logic is cynical: to destroy and block cheap energy sources, hence depriving millions of people, industrial consumers of gas, heat, electricity and other resources and forcing them to buy all this at much higher prices. Forcing.
"The attack on the Nord Streams has set an extremely dangerous precedent, which shows that any critical piece of transport, energy or communications infrastructure is under threat, regardless of its location, management or whether it lies on the seabed or on land..."
"And who stands behind the sabotage against the Nord Streams? Clearly, those who want to completely sever ties between Russia and the European Union, to fully undermine and crush Europe’s political agency, weaken its industrial potential and seize the market. And, of course, those who – I want to stress it – have the technical capacity to organise such explosions and in fact have committed similar sabotage in the past and were caught red-handed but evaded punishment."
"The beneficiaries are well known. I believe no specific details are necessary since the remaining gas systems will acquire greater geopolitical significance. They stretch across Poland (Yamal‒Europe), and Ukraine, the two pipelines that Russia once built with its own money. And, of course, the United States, which will now be able to supply energy resources at high rates."
"I would like to recall who helped Europe at that time and sent additional gas supplies to the European market. It was Russia. However, the leaders of these countries prefer not to recall this. Moreover, they deem it possible to reproach us for being “unreliable.” Do we deny supplies to them? We are ready to ship and we are providing them with all the quantities, as agreed under our contracts. We are supplying them with all the contractual amounts. But if someone does not want to take our product, what do we have to do with this? That is your decision."
"I have noted many times that the Nord Stream lacks any political background. It is a strictly commercial project, in which Russian and European companies take part on equal terms. Hence, Russia and our partners in EU countries should resolve the future of Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2."

"It is certainly possible to repair the damaged gas pipelines that run under the Baltic Sea. But this will make sense only if their further use is economically feasible and the safety of their routes can be ensured – this is the fundamental prerequisite."
"If we come to an agreement with the Europeans to supply gas through the surviving branch – and one branch of Nord Stream 2, apparently, has survived… Unfortunately, we are not allowed to help inspect this branch, but the pipeline is holding pressure. It might be damaged, but we do not know this, because as I have said, we are not allowed to inspect it, but there is pressure, which means, apparently, that it is in working order. Its capacity is 27.5 billion cubic metres per year, which is about 8 percent of Europe’s gas imports."
